Southern Railway of Vancouver Island (SVI) is the operating railroad for Vancouver Island freight and potential passenger services and works under a haulage arrangement with Southern Railway of British Columbia Limited (SRY). SVI provides rail freight services to various customers on Vancouver Island via Transload operation based in Wellcox yard offering connections to North American Railroads (Canadian National, Canadian Pacific, Burlington North Santa Fe, and Union Pacific) who have the ability to reach across the continent. SVI is the rail operator for the Island Corridor Foundation (ICF) and is well-positioned to operate any future or potential rail operations that may arise, this includes expanding Transload Operations, Freight, Tourism, Passenger or Commuter trains.
