Paul Tompkins joined SRY in 1988 as Accounting Supervisor, setting up the general and railway accounting systems when SRY was privatized from B.C. Hydro. Paul gained his CPA designation while at the accounting firm Ernst & Young where he was a manager for some of the Vancouver office’s largest clients in the transmission, transportation, insurance and retail sectors. He assumed his current position at SRY in 1999 and is responsible for finance, general accounting, railway accounting, and data services, and also involved with insurance requirements, property taxes, treasury and financing. He is a member of the Policy and Advisory Committee and the Audit and Finance Committee of the Railway Association of Canada. Paul is a graduate from the Faculty of Commerce at the University of British Columbia and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia.
