Annacis Rail Marine Terminal
SRY’s Annacis Rail Marine Terminal, located on the Fraser River on the southern shore of Annacis Island, commenced operation on January 2, 2010. The terminal, which will provide rail and truck access, creates, for the first time, a physical link between Seaspan, Seaspan Coastal Intermodal (SCIC) and SRY Rail Link’s operations on Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland.
The new facility provides Vancouver Island and Coastal BC industries with direct interline access to the four western Class 1 railroads, CN, BNSF, CPR and Union Pacific, via SRY’s interchanges in New Westminster, BC. On the longer term, SRY’s Marine Terminal will improve access to future transportation infrastructure improvements in the Lower Mainland for Vancouver Island and Coastal Outport customers.
